Hello, dear writer or artist (I love both forms of fanwork equally)! Thank you for being willing to create for me. The prompts below are suggestions that I hope might inspire your creativity but feel free to adapt or change things and add other elements as well if the story or art seems to require it. As long as you stay away from my hard DNWs and include some of what I do like (though of course you don’t need to include absolutely everything), you’re golden! Though some prompts may seem longer than others, I love the fandoms all just as much as each other and would be equally delighted to receive any one of them as my gift, and I enjoy both shippy/romantic stories and gen. If you include romance and/or smut, I prefer m/m and f/f, or F/m (femdom). NO M/f (femsub) please as it is one of my Do Not Wants.
Things I DO like in a story or artwork:
- romance
- the deepening of emotional ties between characters
- friendship becoming love
- overcoming and healing from trauma with the help of a loved one (or loved ones or friends or just kind souls)
- characters who are or were social outcasts triumphing over the smug conformists and privileged self-righteous types
- hurt/comfort
- strengthening of comradeship bonds and characters being willing to go the extra mile to help someone they care about
- someone stumbling on an unlikely but completely right for the situation solution when disaster looks likely to be looming
- found families and/or kidfic
- good endings for the requested characters unless they are the designated "bad guys" (see my DNW Exception marked with an asterisk (*) below)
- smut (for some of my smutty likes, see my Smut 4 Smut letter: https://schlitzie-ramone.dreamwidth.org/12189.html
Horror-Specific Likes:
- spooky, creepy atmosphere
- uncanny valley
- ghosts or monsters protecting a human or humans they love, and woe betide anyone who tries to harm the human loved one(s)
- The “humans are the real monsters” trope – smug, conformist types like arrogant skeptics, busybody relatives of an eccentric family member, interfering townsfolk with a mob mentality, fundamentalist religious leaders and greedy profiteers being more evil in reality than any paranormal entity or creature, and getting their well-deserved come-uppance at the hands of said entities and creatures
- The “skeptic becoming a believer” trope – someone believes that ghosts, monsters etc. are not real, but then they ARE!
- "creepy but cute" imagery
My hard DO NOT WANTS are:
- rape or noncon
- death of requested characters (others are fair game) - see below for exceptions marked with an asterisk (*)
- physical/psychological harm committed between requested characters - see below for exceptions marked with an asterisk (*)
- sex without love or attraction
- unrequited romantic feelings
- paranormal entities or monsters turning against their human companions/loved ones
- homophobia
- female characters being submissive to males
- death of child characters (although alluding to someone who has a paranormal or monster adopted child having lost a child in the past is fine, and it's fine for a haunted doll to be haunted by the ghost of a child)
- graphic depictions of child or animal abuse (although allusions to those happening in the past are OK if the story requires it)
- unrequested ships or kinks being the focus of the fanwork
- animal characters being changed into humans
- excessive gore
- eye and tooth trauma
- amputation
- torture porn
* DNW Exception for Original Works and World Wrestling Entertainment – for these Original Works stories or artworks it’s fine to harm or kill off the Evil Dogmen, Thieves Breaking Into (the Doll Collector’s) House, the adult abusive family members of the orphaned children or the Bigfoot Hunters as these would be the designated “bad guys”. And if you choose to write for World Wrestling Entertainment, it's fine to have plenty of dubcon and mind games as long as innocent people aren’t killed off and anyone who chooses to join Bray or Alexa isn’t totally broken or miserable in the end.
